Prof. Guozhen Liang

Wuhan University
China

Dr. Guozhen Liang is a professor in the School of Electronic Information, Wuhan University. He obtained his bachelor's degree in 2010 and subsequently pursued a Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, specializing in high-performance terahertz quantum cascade lasers, and earned his doctorate in 2015. From 2015 to 2017, he continued his research as a postdoctoral fellow at NTU, focusing on integrated mid-infrared and terahertz quantum cascade lasers. Between mid-2017 and late 2019, Dr. Liang conducted postdoctoral research at Columbia University in New York, working on visible-light phase modulators and all-solid-state LiDAR. From late 2019 to late 2024, he served as Laser Scientist in KLA Corporation. In January 2025, he joined the School of Electronic Information of Wuhan University. Dr. Liang's expertise spans integrated photonics, laser wavefront engineering, and high-performance DUV solid-state lasers. He has published more than 20 high-impact SCI journal papers, including Nature Photonics, Materials Today, and ACS Photonics, etc. Multiple works were highlighted as research breakthroughs by Nature Photonics and other media outlets. He also holds 4 U.S. patents.
