Dr. Zhou is tenured associate professor of School of Environment, Leader of Environmental and Health Sensing Technology Center of School of Environment, Tsinghua University, China. Her research centers on pioneering next-generation monitoring technologies for water environment protection and human health, underpinned by multidisciplinary pathways. In particular, her current focus is on understanding AI-aided biomolecule design; optical biosensors especially combining guided-wave optics with biochemistry; nanomaterial-based biosensing technology; effect-directed analysis of environmental contaminants. Dr. Zhou has published more than 100 peer-reviewed SCI journal papers with an H-index of 40, including publications in the Nature Communications, ACS Central Science, Light: Science and Applications, Advanced Functional Materials and 50+ conference papers, including 10+ invited papers at international conferences. With her continuous research progress, she won Yangtze River Young Scholar Award by the Chinese Ministry of Education (2022),Youth Top Talents of National Ecological and Environmental Protection Professional Technology by the Chinese Ministry of Ecology and Environment(2021), Youth Innovation Award of Zhu Liangyi Analytical Instrument in 2020 (only 5 recipients each year), and China Industry and Research Cooperation Innovation Award (2020). She is also one of the winners of Second Prize of the Environmental Technology Advancement Award, Third Prize of the Zhejiang Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, Gold Medal of International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva and First Class of Technological Invention Award of Chinese Ministry of Education.
